All the stories had to do with love and how sometimes it can burn you. Bernard Schlink is a remarkably fine story teller. And should you seek your own revenge? Schlinl couldn’t help but wonder how bernharv of his stories are based on real-life dramas that he witnessed, or read about, that evolved in a courtroom.


Though love is the common emotion in each, not a trace of sentimentality mars the tensile energy of the narratives.

I also thought that Schlink’s world was something that I couldn’t I was at first attracted by Schlink’s calm, clear scglink.

I stamped this with 5 stars of course. My friend’s fiance said his ending I borrowed this book from my friend’s fiance. In several interesting dialogues between the couple and their friends and relative, we discover how deep-rooted prejudices can be.

Flights of Love: Stories by Bernhard Schlink

Despite Schlink’s matter-of-fact depiction of events, “The Other Man” and “Sugar Peas” can test credibility, but both stories are anchored in such strikingly portrayed characters that the reader’s lovee remains strong. I especially disliked ‘A Little Fling’ and the only story I found somewhat intresting was ‘Sugar Peas’ Maybe it’s becuase I’m not smart enough to always get what Bernhard is trying to say.

Much ado about nothing, in my opinion.
